Suspension rings are iconic in the rope world, so much that they're commonly referred to as "shibari rings."  This simple round loop is large enough to support multiple lock-offs or attachments.  These rings are constructed from solid stainless steel that is 1/2" or 5/8" thick and feature a seamless weld so they won't damage your precious rope.

What size ring should I choose?

Sizing is a matter of preference.  While many suppliers sell rings as small as 6", we tend to stay in the 8" to 10" range.  The smaller the ring, the less lock-offs can be applied, and the more likely you are to run into a rope jam due to the tighter curvature of the ring.

  • The 10" ring offers a more gradual curve which is great for folks who want room for more than a few uplines, use larger diameter rope, or simply prefer the look of a larger ring.
  • Choose an 8" ring if you prefer a more "traditional" size or if your vertical space is at a premium.
  • The 8" versions come in either 1/2" or 5/8" thickness, with the 1/2" version being the lightest and most minimal in appearance.
  • Rings are sold by their inner diameter. For instance, the 10” x 5/8” ring has a 10” hole, but an 11-1/4” overall size.

These rings pair well with the Rock Exotica Shackle Swivel, and we even offer both products together as a kit in which we assemble the swivel to your ring and add some padded material to the inside of the shackle to minimize any clanging metal sounds.

*These rings are specially sourced from the industrial sector and are NOT load rated.

About Uptight Products

Uptight Products is simply our house brand for items we independently source or combine into specialized kits.  The bottom line is that if we don't like it, we won't put the Uptight name on it.  As a matter of fact, if we don't like something we won't even carry it anyway.  Plus it's a fun name for a rope suspension brand!
