The yarn is food grade and specifically developed for prolonged skin contact without the use of traditional petroleum-based JBO (jute batching oil).

Yarns are wound for softness and stability by Koumanawa’s Japanese partner to produce a superior rope which they condition using a blend of jojoba oil and mokurō wax to enrich the color, body, luster, and strength to produce enhanced wear abrasion and low maintenance.
